Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a technique of inserting and manipulating filiform needles into points on the body with the aim of restoring health and well-being and treating pain.  Thought to have originated in China, acupuncture has grown increasingly popular in the United States as a means of arresting and seeking relief from certain troublesome conditions.

Focusing on points along the “14 channels”, Adkore’s expert practitioners utilize acupuncture to treat lower back pain, shoulder conditions, and more, often as part of a patient’s overall healing program.  The most effective recovery plan often involves a combination of therapies; including acupuncture on our full menu of treatment options allows Adkore to better serve the unique and varied needs of clients.

Homeopathic Injections

Homeopathic medicines are based on natural compounds found in nature. They are often a good alternative to more conventional medicines, as they produce fewer (if any) side effects. Plant and mineral compounds that are known to have therapeutic effects are diluted in sterile saline solutions and packaged in sterile glass ampules for injections.

The two products used at Adkore, Zeel and Traumeel, have been meticulously researched and found to be the most effective for trauma-induced disorders. Traumeel is used for most acute types of trauma. It significantly reduces pain and inflammation--and speeds the healing process. Typically, a series of three injections spaced a week apart is sufficient to relieve most cases of acute pain and inflammation. Zeel is most often used for tendonitis and miscellaneous joint pain from arthritis or other degenerative joint disorders.

These products are manufactured in Germany and conform to all American Good Manufacturing Process (GMP)standards. The treatments consist of a series of small, subcutaneous injections around the affected area(s). These injections may sting just a bit, and, as with all homeopathic treatments, your condition may be aggravated temporarily. However, you'll generally feel relief within 24 hours. Homeopathic medicines are safe to use with all conventional medinces.

B-12 Injections

Vitamin B12 is an essential, water-soluble vitamin commonly found in a variety of foods such as fish, shellfish, meat, and dairy products. Vitamin B12 is frequently used in combination with other B vitamins in a vitamin B complex formulation. It helps maintain healthy nerve and red blood cells and is also needed to make DNA, the genetic material in all cells.

Poor diet, strict vegetarian diets, and certain digestive disorders can lead to a vitamin B12 deficiency. Food-derived B12 requires that the acid in your stomach break it down for absorption, so those who take acid inhibitors such as Zantac or Pepcid may also have lower B12 levels. In addition, type 2 diabetics who take Metformin may be at risk of lower levels of B12.

The injectable vitamin used by Adkore is in the form of Methylcobalamin, which has been shown to help metabolic deficiencies and has also been used to help peripheral and diabetic neuropathies. Studies have shown that the Methylcobalamin form of the vitamin stays in the body longer, requiring fewer injections. It is compounded here in the U.S. and conforms to all GMP standards.

Vitamin B12 is safe to use in all injectable forms for most people, but there are some contraindications. Patients who have received coronary stents or are going to have a stent implanted should not receive B12 injections. Patients who have rosacea may see their symptoms aggravated. Those with the rare hereditary optical nerve condition, Leber's disease, should also not receive B12 injections.
